Why proofreading matters

How different life can be plus or minus a consonant:

timelines or timeliness?

deadlines or deadliness?

This week I can't tell the difference.

L,
You once posted a story of cake a cake that read "Happy Bar Mitzvah, Irving" (from a long-standing family joke about getting the wrong cake for various purposes).
My family too shared that same joke. However, none of us can remember how the joke started.I believe the joke refered to an episode from a 1970's sitcom. Can you help me remember where the joke came from?
Thanks,
J

Hello J,

Unfortunately, I don't know any origin of the phrasing before my family's story. My parents perhaps knew the origin, but they're not telling. Sorry!
